Hello, everyone! I’m Techiga Nithin Gowda, and today I’ll be taking you through a detailed analysis of the charging process for the Ather 450x gen3 model. One of the most common questions I receive is about the cost of charging this electric vehicle, and today, I’m excited to share with you the exact units consumed and the associated cost from 0% to 100%.

Charging Setup: To begin with, I’ve reset the electric meter to 0, The Ather 450X is a new addition to my vehicle collection, and this is its first charge since purchase. The battery was intentionally drained to 0%, and I’m using a portable charger for this demonstration. It’s noteworthy that both the portable charger and the fixed charger have the same current consumption, with the only difference being the waterproofing case in the fixed charger.

Charging Progress: As I initiate the charging process, The charger itself consumes 5 watts of current, and we observe the initial charging rate at 286 watts. Charging from 0% to 1% takes approximately 6 minutes and 50 seconds. The pace picks up, and after 30 minutes, the vehicle covers 5 kilometers with a current consumption of 600-650 watts.

After 2 hours and 51 minutes, the results show that the Ather consumed 1.72 kilowatts and covered a distance of 50 kilometers. The subsequent 95% to 100% charging phase takes longer due to slower charging speeds. It took 5 hours and 26 minutes to charge from 95% to 100%, covering an additional 100 kilometers.

How much does it cost to charge the Ather scooter?

The total electricity consumed to fully charge an Ather 450X is 3.70 kWh.

Conclusion: In summary, understanding the charging dynamics and costs associated with the Ather 450X provides valuable insights for electric vehicle enthusiasts. As technology evolves, these analyses contribute to a more informed and sustainable approach to electric mobility.
