Traffic fines are issued for various violations, and sometimes you may receive a challan due to an error. In this guide, I’ll explain how you can check and pay your traffic fines online and also dispute a wrongly issued challan.
How to Check and Pay Traffic Fines Online
To check if you have any pending traffic fines, follow these steps:
1.Visit the Karnataka One website: Karnataka One Website
You can also check fines for the following RTOs:
- Bengaluru RTO (Bangalore Traffic Police)
- Mysuru RTO
- Mangaluru RTO
- Hubballi-Dharwad RTO
- Shivamogga RTO
- Davanagere RTO
2. After that, enter your vehicle number. (If there is no fines, the system will display ‘No Fine Details Found’.)
You will see a list of violations along with a violation details.
Clicking ‘View Violation’ button it will show photo evidence of the violation.
Paying the Fine: If you have a traffic fine, you can make the payment directly through the Karnataka One portal.
How to Dispute a Wrong Traffic Fine
In some cases, traffic fines may be issued incorrectly due to AI camera errors or human mistakes. For example:
A defective number plate is KA03HC8008, but the traffic fine is issued to KA04HC8008.
If you have received a fine that you believe is incorrect, you can dispute it by following these steps:
- Send an email to automationpubbcp@ksp.gov.in.
- In the email, mention the violation number and vehicle registration number.
Once you send the email, they will verify your request. Generally, it takes 2-3 days for them to rectify the issue and remove the incorrect challan.
By following these steps, you can easily check, pay, or dispute traffic fines without any hassle. Always verify the legitimacy of any fine before making a payment to avoid paying for incorrect violations.
