Hi Friends, This is Nithin Gowda, and in this article, I’ll take you through my experience with Airtel Airfiber—right from installation to first impressions, speed test, and everything you need to know. Let’s dive in!
Airtel Airfiber: My Experience
I opted for the 100 Mbps Airtel Xstream plan priced at ₹899 (plus tax), which also comes bundled with a DTH connection offering 350+ channels, including HD channels, and access to 22 OTT apps.
Installation Process
The entire process was quite smooth. I got the connection within 3 days of booking. First, the DTH setup was installed, followed by the Airfiber installation the next day.
DTH Setup
The DTH set-top box is equipped with 4K Google TV (Android OS), giving you access to the Play Store to download apps. It also supports Dolby Atmos sound, enhancing the overall viewing experience.
Airfiber Outdoor Unit
Here’s the Airtel Airfiber outdoor unit. It comes with:
- Two IMEI numbers
- Two LAN ports, both capable of delivering up to 1 Gbps speeds.
- Powered by a Qualcomm 5G chip, ensuring fast and stable connectivity.
Router
The provided router is a Nokia Beacon 3.2 with WiFi 6 technology and a Qualcomm WiFi chip, ensuring good coverage throughout the house. Another advantage is that the router supports PoE (Power over Ethernet), meaning it powers the outdoor unit directly through the Ethernet cable, so there’s no need for an additional adapter.
Speed Test and Performance
After installation, I conducted a speed test, and I’ve been consistently getting 100-120 Mbps, even during peak hours. Additionally, the ping speed has been excellent, staying below 50ms, which is great for online gaming. This low ping ensures smooth, lag-free gameplay, making the connection ideal for gamers.
Final Thoughts: Things to Consider
If you’re planning to get Airtel Airfiber, it’s important to note that wireless internet performance can depend on factors like your area and the number of users connected to nearby towers. Therefore, I highly recommend checking the Airtel 5G network coverage and performing a speed test in your location before making the decision to subscribe.
Overall, my experience with Airtel Airfiber has been great, and it’s a solid option for both regular users and gamers. Let me know your thoughts or questions in the comments below!
